Description
But just as a candle cannot burn forever, the ego is not eternal. It is only when we begin the journey toward awakening, touching the light of awareness, that the flame flickers and fades. This is the crucial moment in the painting—when the candle is extinguished, when the ego no longer causes us pain, anxiety, or unrest.
In this artwork, I aim to convey the serenity and relief of that moment. When the flame goes out, we no longer feel its heat. The burning wax, which once harmed us, now becomes a distant memory. It is at this moment that we close our eyes, release everything, and sink into the vast space of nirvana—a place free from the constraints of the ego, where only infinite peace and tranquility remain.
I hope that viewers not only see the extinguishing of the flame but also the inner transformation—from the tension and turmoil of the ego to the release and freedom that comes with enlightenment. When standing before the painting, I want each person to find a piece of their own journey within it, to see the changes in themselves—from the flames that once consumed their soul to the calm moments when everything fades away, leaving only the joy of peace and understanding.
