Small still life

A small still life – but not so “still” at all.

A few days ago, I got an inbox invitation from a fellow artist abroad to join a fun food painting challenge. I almost forgot about it, until tonight. After finishing a big piece, I still felt… unsatisfied.

While my husband was fully absorbed in his usual horror movie marathon (a universe I honestly don’t belong to 😅), I chose to sit quietly and paint something simple – this supermarket apple, sticker still intact.

To be honest, I wasn’t trying to turn it into anything grand. I just wanted to capture an everyday moment with love for color, light, and form. And somehow, that gave the piece its own energy: fresh, modern, familiar – and quietly poetic.
