We Are Joy Generators

We are generators of energy, yet often forget this truth, inadvertently turning ourselves into waste bins. Instead of sitting quietly, radiating joy from within, we strain our ears and eyes to absorb everything around us, filling ourselves with mixed emotions, irritations, and even resentment from what we consume.

Life might hand us a tangerines orange (to put it trendy), or more realistically, even a lemon – but either way, we can still make lemonade or squeeze it to enjoy with salt and pepper. If we view adversity only as adversity, we’ll drown in it. However, seeing it as an opportunity to strengthen and enlighten our minds – to recognize our innate capacity as joy generators – turns adversity into fortune.

Young people today practice “manifesting” their dreams into reality. Older generations have long understood the principle of “everything arises from the mind,” which essentially means returning to our inner joy generator. It’s always there, completely free, yet unknown and unbelieved. Once you discover it, belief is no longer necessary.

Today, generate your own joy – you’ll find clearly that it’s possible. Don’t wait for someone else to smile before smiling back. Look at an object nearby, a flower, a ray of sunlight, a drop of rain, or simply glance down at your own hand and smile at it. You’ll see joy radiating outward. Gradually, you’ll learn to create greater joys and realize that true joy doesn’t need, shouldn’t, and doesn’t wait for external circumstances.

Any joy coming from external sources is temporary, even artificial. Only joy from within is ever-present, always available – it’s just that we often overlook and fail to awaken it.
